Temps D’Ordir (Time to Plot), 2024Film, 3:52 minutes
Waszczeniuk’s film explores the deep connection between a woman’s mental state and the ever-changing life cycles of a river. Through its poetic narrative, the film reflects on humanity’s instinctual bond with nature, embracing its wisdom, wildness, and cyclical rhythms. It invites the viewer to recognize that we are not separate from nature, but part of it.
The film works to create an immersive, sensory experience that prioritizes emotion over logic. Using under-camera animation with ground coffee, the film’s unique visual language enhances its organic, flowing movement, mirroring the river’s fluidity and life’s impermanence. By allowing space for personal interpretation, the film encourages audiences to engage deeply with their own instincts, emotions, and connections to the natural world.
Born in Białystok, Poland, Waszczeniuk is a director, animator, visual artist, and filmmaker specializing in under-camera animation using ground coffee. A graduate of the University of Fine Arts in Poznań, she has exhibited her work at over 100 international film festivals, earning numerous awards and distinctions.
