Film, 7:00 minutes
Yap challenges the idea that a collapsing world is devoid of meaning, pushing back against the belief that if climate change is irreversible, then action is pointless. It highlights how this assumption leads to avoidance, keeping people from engaging in critical conversations about adaptation, resilience, and care. By confronting these fears head-on, the film urges audiences to rethink their relationship with the crisis, embracing the complexity of hope in uncertain times.
The film hopes to shift the climate narrative away from despair and denial, encouraging honest discussions about what it means to live meaningfully in a challenging world. It rejects the notion that acknowledging the full weight of the crisis is defeatist and instead emphasizes the power of preparation, connection, and responsibility. By fostering open dialogue, the film inspires viewers to move beyond passive acceptance, and toward active engagement with the future.
